Just as a matter of interest, how much do the extra keel guards weigh?

Only thing is to stil fix the trailer.
I added extra trumpets to the Kalf trailer I used with my Futura - I also removed the two transom supports and fitted one transom support directly below the lowest point on the transom - seems to work better.

Thinking about doing the same. Remove the center keel rollers and add 1 row extra trumpet rollers.. I have two transom supports. That will take the most weight.

Just put the whole package on the scales: 2,2kg..:
But I need to do the cutting still, so probably something like 1,9kg

So the extra couple of kilo shouldn't have any detrimental effect at all. Be good to see a pic fully inflated when you've completed it.

That repair looks neat and wouldn't concern me if I was looking at that as a used buy.

Thanks!! Think with the protection strips it will look great. The dealer said he would not mind either is if I ever wanted to trade it inn with them.

They were also very great with the support and helping out with what the best option was. Really nice local small business with a can do mindset. Also with the purchase of the boat they were helping out superb. And now with the damage they were even responding during a public holiday offering multiple options on what we could do to get us back boating asap.

Quest of the day is the trailer setup.
Do like the suggestion of _monkey on adding a additional line with trumpet rollers.

For now I'm considering to remove the full row of center keel rollers since this design is most likely to cause new damage to the boat.

Add 1 row of rollers

Stick to the 2 transom supports on the back to carry the majority of the weight.

The design would look like this from above:

Other option is to switch to 1 support underneath the transom, but Im afraid this is to little. With the two I now have tilting support that follows the transom neath and the support covers almost 70% of the transom space.

One last question I have is on how the angle of the boat should be on the trailer. Now it's slightly tilted within 10 / 15 degrees. But don't know if it would make more sense to have it at 0 degrees laying just flat on the trumpet rollers. What do you guys think?

I found another pic with the boat off the trailer:

I removed the two brackets and retained one roller to support the lowest point on the transom. I moved the aft trumpets so they were level with the transom. This provided the easiest configuration for getting the boat on and off the trailer. I found the brackets interfered when recovering the boat.

That center roller I have right now and caused the damage to the bottom. So won’t be using that one.

But this image is very helpful. And will almost look like my end result, only difference be that my center roller will be two support cushions under neath the transom.

Hi Steve,

Yes, indeed... took me quite some hours in the end.
But overall I'm very happy and think this is the best possible solution for the boat.

We only have it for 1 year, but really enjoy it with the family. We most likely are taking it with us on holiday to Italy this year, so happy I got the repair done asap. We damaged it 1,5 week ago and the weather is looking very good for the weekend so maybe we go out boating again :-)

I'll post a detail shot of the front later.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and the support. Made me confident that I was able to fix it and I’m pleased with the result.

For the trailer I now went with the setup without the first keel roller that caused the damage when trailering

Left the center keel roller, which is bigger and in the front of the boat to offer support. The transom is support with two supports.

It’s sitting quite high now, but I do like the way it lays on the trailer. Will lower everything with 2 - 4 cm to have lower center of gravity.
