There were no patches on it when I bought it, as I started to inflate it I heard and saw 1 leak, there were a also couple of areas that looked potential leaks as they had either been worn through or pinched, I took the floor out and there was a lot of sand and shingle still underneath.
Now others may or may not be put off by these issues, I decide it wasn't for me.
In the end it all depends what you call acceptable or not acceptable....

Well maybe it's buyer beware, I had a chat with BMC and bought it. See how it all goes and if well I'll be selling on the bombard I bought for the same price of £650 and prob the 3.2 honwave includes launch wheels, how many boats can one own? !

Fair enough... we all have different judgements on value. Must admit I was a bit precious in the past about patches. Don't have any yet but totally untroubled for the first ones we will eventually get.

Well turned out to be a real crock of sh@t - for a start it was 2002 not 2007.
Had several patches under the floor and generally dirty!! Thanks for the info on here - meant I knew what to look for even though even the niaivest of buyers wouldn't have touched it for the money they were asking! Decided to sell my
Suzumar 360 privately(on here for £400) then buy a new Aerotec for next season - already have a FRib 330 to keep me going till then

Always want to give people the benefit of doubt but that’s pretty far from what’s advertised, unless a novice was in charge of the write up? At least the year of it would’ve been easy to spot and does it or doesn’t it have a repair etc.

The 2002 I bought which has a clean no puncture air floor, one solid professional repair to the underside of the bow, original wheels, pump and seat was only £650.00

If you have the outboard already quite right, wait a while and just get the boat you want

Fenlander, The Frib is a nice piece of kit but in my opinion not suited for rough weather.
The tubes are quite small compared to the Aerotech which is also more roomy if you want to take more than one passenger.
We fold both boats up in the back of our motorhome tow car(a Suzuki Swift) and although The FRib is lighter than the Suzumar it takes up more room meaning we have to carry the engine separately. Worked it out and the Aerotec folds up slightly smaller than the Suzumar meaning there is room for the engine.
We sail a lot from Calshot and whilst I would use the FRib all day in Southampton Water I would think long and hard before going to The IOW in it!!

Suzumar sold almost immediately so now in the market for a new(or nearly new) Aerotec. Penine Marine seem the best deal at the moment knocking them out for £2400.00. Anyone seen any better deals or know of a good second hand one? Also how much can I expect to spend on launching wheels?

Trem HD launch wheels if you want flip up... they are strong and pick up on the OE buttons fitted to Aerotecs... about £160-£180.

OE Zodiac ones (don't flip) made for the Aerotec are I reckon £250 or so.

Trems perhaps £50-£100 used... Zodiacs £75-£125 used.

If you buy new (unless discounted below £2000) insist on a 2017 build proved by serial number... there were a few poor ones made in 2016 after a factory closure and re-opening due to financial issues and they may still be floating about dealerships.

so is the point an areotec is beter than frib ? but its alot smaller ? how do you think it is comparied to frib 375

yes, just read it cant make my mind up as dont want buy something new for africa, thats not as good as my 96 aerotec that just needs bit gluing and some plates

Tried to keep my review balanced but personally I much preferred the Aerotec for our use in typical UK chop. The F-Ribs are designed for flat water inland lakes as found in their native country. With small dia. tubes, shallow V hull they give a fast but wet and jarring ride in typical UK chop and swell.
Hard to get any unbiased opinions on the other site as it seems to possess an unnerving level of brand loyalty.

Bombard Aerotech Dimensions

Looked also at the small Ribeyes, Highfields. Rather nice and a definite improvement over the F-Ribs/Aerotec but need trailering and still lightweight shallow V hulls with limited hp rating - 25 ish if I recall. Things then seem to spiral out of control and I ended up with a 5m rib/60hp. Only still a tiddler in rib world but a massive improvement for our use.
For a lightweight roll up boat the Aerotec is an amazing package if pumped up to the max to unleash its formidable potential.

i have proper ring rib in croydon
but were talking west africia, so beach launch and tho in pub after day in son 200 meters away from sea, and have 15 hp yamaha 4 stroke s/shaft, looked at xpros but there long shaft
we all have first world problems !

It's a 2003 Aerotec 380, it has already suffered the dreaded transom and floor issues, and has just been returned to me from Ribshop, who did a full floor and transom re-glue. Hence it comes with almost 12 month guarantee on that from them. They said the glue they use is better than the factory used when the boat was new.

It's in really quite good condition for the age, I don't think it's been used much at all.

May well be a better bet than spending out on a new one...
