Bombard Aerotech Dimensions

Forgive me if this has already been answered but I have the chance of
buying a 380 Aerotech but before I commit myself I need to know if it will fit in my car? Please can anyone furnish me with the dimensions of the boat when folded?
thanks
Martyn

Many thanks Fenlander - going to look at one Thursday, 2007 with a 15hp Suzuki 4 Stroke. Any advice on what I should look for? Apparently it has one small patch?

2007 should see it free of glue failure but do check for any lifting floor/transom seams... or any signs of previous repair in those areas.

Otherwise it's really down to obvious cosmetics you would notice on any SIB.

Is the Suzuki the same age?

As far as I know the engine and boat were bought new together. Has had one owner - its for sale in JBT Marine Portsmouth who are taking my Suzumar 360 in PX. The engine is being serviced as we speak and although pictures tell a 1000 lies it does look good.

More thoughts... For that price it needs to be mint/complete and from the photos I'd be thinking...

I'd like the seat to be included, can't see it in pics. They almost never come up second hand and they need the correct knurled nut fittings so not so easy to make your own as you can for the Chinese (Honwave etc) style ones. The fittings alone are £60 or more for the Aerotec.

It looks to have quite a few marks on the tubes and I'd want to see these are just dirt that will wipe off.

The air floor looks filthy and these are a pig to clean once heavily ingrained. I would also deflate and pop out the air floor before buying to check the underside for condition and patches.

The trailer seems ill suited or ill fitted to the boat. The keel support/s seem to be collapsing the floor upwards. Does the trailer support the transom/OB?

Think about the OB size/weight balance. It is as heavy as a 20hp but without the power. In truth it would be better to either have a 20 or a lighter weight 15hp 2-stroke Mariner/Mercury/Yamaha.

None of the above make it a bad outfit... just things to consider when looking.

To be honest though I would have thought you could have done better on Ebay or Gumtree around £2000-£2500 without the trailer which I think you don't need from your question about packed dimensions.

As a comparison think about this one...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bombard-ae...gAAOSwAO9ZPDke

About the same age with the very popular Mariner 15hp 2-stroke. He's been punting it for a few weeks on Ebay and I reckon the several floor patches are putting folks off... but if you could get it at start price it's £1300 cheaper!

From what I can see in the pictures, and assuming the boat and motor are both 2007, I'd reckon that's worth about £1800 without the trailer, maybe £2000 as it's the summer.

Whether the trailer adds any value or not depends on how you plan to use it. If you reckon on keeping it on the trailer you'd be much better off with a 4m Searider.

Thank everyone - I am looking at £2000 + my Suzumar and not including the trailer.
Looking on ebay and most seem to be around that price. I intend selling the engine separately as I already own a 2 year old Suzuki 15hp two stroke. Reckon I should get a grand for the engine and tank. Just looking tomorrow and will take into account what you have said - it will have to be immaculate before I part with any cash

Barnet Marine have an Aerotec on EBay at £995 which looks cleaner than the one at JBT.

No need to mess around selling a motor, and you still get to sell your other SIB.

Good call John... it's a 2014 which has the massive advantage of a wipe clean floor and puts it 7 more years away from glue issues than the JBT Marine one. Get Barnet to put a neat patch on that nick in the price and that looks a good deal... inc OE transom wheels too.

Unless Noddy hates his Suzuki 15hp for some reason it's a no brainer.

Btw: Was it someone's on here... the anti-splash mod looks familiar??

Only briefly, I sent it back for a full refund.
Can't fault Barnet Marine for the way they dealt with the refund though.

So was it a recent used buy you thought not as described... if so what were its faults?

Almost no point you posting if you won't say what was wrong... some issues that were important to you may not worry others... so unless in 3yrs from new the glue was peeling or it had some other constructional issue that I can't begin to imagine it could still be a good buy for someone who accepted what you didn't.

This just came up in my ebay searches and via JK's mention in this thread... I've been waiting for a newer BAT for some time and would likely buy BMC's why did you return it @69cmw?
