AVON S400 engine

hi looking for help on the size of motor for my avon s400its a old boat in good nick but will it take a 30hp after all these years transom is ok wat do you think. look forward for your thoughts

Used to have pretty much same boat once. Used a 15 on it was absolutely fine. Would have flown with 20. Wouldnt go any bigger esp if using a 4 stroke - the transom is old and probably wouldnt like the weight!

I had one with a 25hp two stroke on it and it was a blast.

How do you plan to use the boat? Will you be trailing it, or packing it away each time? Anything above 15hp is getting a bit heavy for regularly manhandling.

avon s400

hi i hope to be trailering could not lift that big lump very offten lol. do you think a 30 might be to much.they are rated for a 40 shees old but good.can you tow a ring or is it to much for transom.
