Never mind if the support bars are standard... is the transom standard?
It's way too high. Could be they've had a long-shaft engine on it, when I assume it should be a standard-shaft one. Also the support bars come too far forward. Trip hazard comes to mind.

I had one of those. Looked nothing like that at the rear end! I think they are plated to max 25hp not 40 as he states, especially on a home made transom
