Avon keel tube pressure relief valve

My 1991 vintage Avon has a leaking PRV in the keel tube. Photos attached.

I'm guessing the issue is dirt and want to try cleaning it out. Has anyone ever disassembled one of these? It appears to be plastic that is snap fit together.

For plan A I'm going to spray 303 on the backside of it and let that work through the valve, hopefully pulling along any debris that is keeping it from sealing.

Plan B is to disassemble and clean if that is feasible.

If cleaning doesn't work what is a source in USA for this? I searched a few sites but didn't see this particular PRV listed.

I recently purchased a 2 liter ultrasonic cleaner for $80 (£50) to clean carbs.

It's perfect for what you're trying to do.

If you own an outboard with a carb, it's probably the best long term investment you can make.

Just wanted to follow-up on this in case someone else runs into this problem.

I kept the valve intact, sprayed some 303 into the back of it, and hooked the footpump hose to the back of the valve. Quite a bit of debris flushed out of the valve. I did this a few more times until the debris was gone. Re-installed the valve and no leaks.

909, your ultrasonic cleaner idea is a good one too.
