Anchor line

Hi Can anyone tell me if a divers reel / line is heavy enough for a 2.7m SIB with a 3.5 tohatsu?

No (imo) the combined weight of you/boat/engine/kit/crew bouncing about on a lumpy sea will snap the line in a trice. I'm assuming you won't be having a length of chain attached to the business end, the chain does more work than the anchor & is more important. A divers line is designed to support/guide a single person immersed in water, so probably 15kg at most, without any shock loading.

Thanks for the info. I'm using a folding anchor with chain.. So better off with rope and a bucket / net bag then?

Better with something designed for the job. If you are looking for minimum space then there are some high performance sailing lines that would hold the kind of load you need probably in 3-4mm, but they will be expensive!

Pluss abrasion and lack of anchor chain would soon mean you have to buy another reel...As well as a proper Anchor and Rope

But bear in mind that 3mm line will be unpleasant to pull in - especially with any load on it.
