Achilles su series air valve repair

Dont know if i am ham fisted, or unlucky but broke 2 air valves whilst tightening.
Which now that i have pulled them apart i realise tightening excessively is pointless as they seal off well before the screw bottoms out.

Very expensive to replace, like between $60 -80 AUD

Ordered 2 from the USA, took so long to get here i managed to come up with a way of repairing them which has worked out perfectly

2 stainless washers, bolt to suit valve head thread.
drill 1/8 inch holes in the washers and assemble.

So that is a military style valve. I find that Hyside sells a better one than those that are said to be from Achilles. The Hyside valves are all metal and have the same hole pattern. I deal them from my store and have shipped to Australia. Let me know if you need more info.

Hello!

I also have an old Achilles with missing air valves - I live in the UK and hit a brick wall trying to find a way to get them replaced affordably. THe only company I found wanted $189 to post 5 valves to me!!! I could ship the whole boat for that!!

Very much hoping for a solution as it would be great to get her on the water again and not bin her.
