I think you are referring to a Mariner 3.5hp four stroke and the Suzuki 2.5hp four stroke.????
I own a Suzuki 2.5 hp and it is a cracking little engine.
It is used as an auxiliary engine on my Sib - the main engine being a Tohatsu 20hp 4 stroke.
The little Suzuki does have a few minor issues - but nothing that can't be rectified with a drill and screw driver.
It is super light and has proved to be super reliable during my 5 year ownership.
I probably clock up 20 + hrs per annum on it.
I have knowledge of the Mariner 3.5hp also.
It is a bigger heavier more robust unit.
If it is for a main sib engine and weight isnt paramount it would be the Mariner 3.5hp every time for me.

There is one on ebay Alan for £400, 2007. It looks in decent condition.
