Winch strap needed - 60mm big hook.

I wanted a new winch strap as mine looked a bit faded and sorry for itself. So, five mins of ebay purchasing had one turn up in the post the following day.

Then I found out my existing one is 60mm wide, not 50 like the one I bought. Not that that should be a problem, but I then found the hook on the replacement one was not big enough to hook over the bow cleat. Doh !

Seems my original one is both wider and bigger in the hook department.

Ive searched for a 60mm one and just cant find anything. Anyone got any ideas. The trailer is an Indespension, but their website only seems to sell 50mm wide ones. Ebay and Google cant help.

I figure a wider strap will result in a slightly larger hook as well.

Dyneema, is that better ? How does it attach to the winch drum ?

If I change from a strap, how about one of those wire cables then ?

(too much choice)

Have a look here, not sure about best price but it's where I get mine

there is normally a hole on the side of the drum you can put the rope end through & secure then it works by keeping a few turns on the drum as a bite
cover the part going through the drum with heat shrink to protect it.

I have never had a problem with my winch straps, but I do make sure they are fed on to the winch drum neatly and this is a pain if you do not have someone to guide it on! So I have just ordered this Machermann Synthetic Winch Cable Rope For ATV up to 4500LBS 5.5mm x 12.2m | eBay to try it would seem to be strong enough and I was worried about fitting thicker on to the winch drum.
