Trailer width

Hi everyone,

Still new in the SIB world, please forgive me if this is an elementary question.

I have sourced a trailer to use for my MK2 FS, the boat is 6ft (1.8m) wide, but the trailer is 4.375ft (1.3m) wide measured at the extreme ends of the wheels. I plan on installing additional bunks to help the outer tubes (already has 2 bunks at floor to tube connection).

Length is 15ft (4.5m) long with inner bed area is 77in x 40in (196cm x 102cm)

My question is would this trailer be adequate? As the boat would overhang by 6.5 inches (16cm) or so each side.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't have thought that Canada was a backward country.
Surely your authority on vehicle registration and requirements has a website outlining the legal sizes etc.

I don’t think his question was legality (although good luck working out if that would be legal in the U.K. from gov sources!); his question is about support for the boat...

Not sure if they do maths different in Canada?

When I went to school:

180cm - 130cm = 50cm, split evenly that is 25cm each side of overhang?

Presumably less than the width of the tube? On a Rib you wouldn't support the tubes? And the wheels aren't usually as wide as the tubes...
