Trailer wheel and tyre width

I'm going from a 195 to a 165 width. Single axle and with 8 ply tyres. It's only a 5.5m 100HP Ribtec. Is the the narrower width going to make any amount of difference?

Check the load rating of the new tyres against the old ones for starters

Only problems I see would be load rating as Dave mentioned, and whether or not they'd fit your rims (which would be moot if you're replacing rims.)
