Trailer ID plate....sticker??

The ID plate on our Mersea trailer was pinched (we think while it was parked up in N Wales)....reported to Police just in case we got pulled (you will be pleased to know i've also received my victim of crime support pack )

Long story short...contacted supplier with the details, who kindly offered to supply a replacement plate....But when it arrived....its a sticker!

Don't think it will last very long tbh.....is this the norm now? Was thinking about mounting it under perspex....any suggestions?

Cheers Martini.... I saw that link.....may have to go that route. I had considered that at first, but contacted the manuf as i liked the idea of having the Kocher plate....with their logos etc...

Looking at the sticker I may have more joy sticking it to some plate and riveting that back on in place of the original.....don't think it would last five minutes on the galv metal on its own.

What is the law for old trailers, I have a unbraked boat trailer which is 10 years+ + + + old, which is still in good condition, it was made by a local engineering firm & has no ID plate, is it still road legal in UK ?

ps I would use it once or twice a year towing it to England/Wales/Scotland ( as well as in NI ), its for a light weight 15' speedboat, well below 750kg.

and any links to the "law" ?
