Trailer for Sale

First of all, a very public thank you to Lurcher for his help on Monday, for my first outing with the new boat. Most enjoyable, and conditions couldn't have been better. The airborne phases around Chichester Bar were most enjoyable and the landings suitably soft!

Whilst towing down we were stopped by the traffic boys in blue. Readers of my first thread will know that the trailer for this 7.0m Humber with a 175hp lump, is an American, unbraked, single axle. So you can imagine our trepidation when the blues came on.

Strangely enough they were not interested in the trailer, but wanted me to complete a form which is part of "Operation Yamaha". This appears to be a check on legitimate ownership of the RIB you are towing and seems like a good idea in light of recent thefts. The form was specifically titled "Rigid Inflatable Boat ..............." and is clearly targetted at us rather than just any old boat on a trailer.

However, the experience has nudged me further down the road of getting a more sensible trailer for longer distance tows. So while I am sorting that, I wondered if anyone out there might be interested in buying this American one?

I am no expert, but Lurcher assures me that the build quality is good, it tows very, very well and has the old grease filled hubs for longevity! I also have a 2 inch towing hitch to go with it.

I'll get some photos organised tomorrow but in the meantime if anyone is interested then please drop me an email.

ATB
