Long lighting board for trailer

Im looking for a long lighting board- that I can place on the extending arms which come out of the bottom of the trailer. I cant seem to find any long boards looking on internet. Any recommendations.

At the moment the side lights are on metal uprights which I wish to take off the trailer, and the board is attached to back of RIB. Im looking to move the boat a lot so want to have it set up properly.

Cheers

Just get a plank of wood. Hinge it in the middle so you can fold it and put it into your car. Obviously it'll need a fixing to keep it rigid when in use. Screw on your present lights. Not too difficult to do.

Or you could to a double glazing/soffit company and scrounge a scrap piece of the plastic form that they use.

It won't rot!

My 6ft board came from Towsure.

I did however have to shave 1/2 inch of either end so it fits diagonally in the car.
I have plans similar to JW's hinge suggestion to make life easier in future.

Not quite on thread

I saw a trailer once that running along most of it's length a 4 inch Osma pipe with a baffle inside on which was mounted a trailer socket, in to which one plugged ones lighting board. When launching one unplugged ones short leaded trailer board and popped the watertight cap on. cracking idea!

I've got the same problem. Only got a small lighting board and need a longer one to fit onto the extending arms.
Thought about cutting the board into sections,

Light cluster ------Number plate --------- Light cluster

Connect the sections together using a stainless curtain poll.

Yes. I was told they were guaranteed for a lifetime. What I didn't understand is that they were apparently guaranteed to hold water for that long!

I ended up drilling a hole in the bottom of one of them to drain the water out...

Having said that, I launch almost daily in the summer, and they have held up better than the old style. I am in fresh water...

Two sections will be more than enough- then you can just hinge it. To be legal you can only tow max 2.3m, so a 2m board will be long enough. Fold in half & it'll fit in any car boot.

Another thing I have done is to chop the cable at the length it takes to go up to and take a a turn round the frame pole - then means you're not having to wrestle with 6+ yards of wet, manky cable (from the road, not the launch!) but keeps the inline socket out of harms way. If you don't have a frame, cut it so the plug is just on the floor under the transom - gravity will be ebnough to hold it - worked a treat on my old SR4.

Yes, I have fitted them to my trailer and they are excellent I bought them on ebay for about £35 a pair.

They have been dunked numerous times with no problems.
