Lifexof axel

I have a coaster 5 trailer which has what I would call an axel. This axel is box section in which suspension units are fitted. The suspension units are not visible as they are in the box section. What is the life of these axel units. My trailer is on its 11th season. Best way to replace vthe suspension units is buy an complete axel unit or is there suitable after market units?

Thats prety much a standard trailer axle nowadays its very rare the suspension gives up itself. The most common cause of replacement of one of those axles is rotten brakes and back plates and hubs they then tend to be uneconomic to repair. Repairs to the suspension or stub axles requires replacement of the complete axle as you cannot replace one side.
The good thing is there not particularly expensive @around £300-£350 for a complete axle with hubs brake cables etc
