Grease

I have striped down my trailer brakes and wondered what grease to put on adjusters and linkages is it that copper grease or marine grease? Also is there any point painting the back plate of the brakes or just wire brush off the rust?

Grease

For grease, I use Quicksilver 2-4-C, infact, I use it for everything. Don't use copper based grease.

For the backplates, a wire brush, a quick brush with some Kurust, red oxide primer then a zinc paint like galvafroid. Tbh, itl go rusty again.

RIBase
We like / use this from Lucas: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lucas-10330-X-Tra-Heavy-Grease/dp/B000IG5QOQ

And we have good results with this: http://www.acf-50.co.uk/marine.htm
Paint / treat all the hubs, back plates, swing arms etc with this liberally / regularly. I don't like the idea of a failing paint system trapping water....
