It would be a scooshy wee job to knock up a bracket for that, and as they guys have said, you could have it pre drilled so you could move the ball to 3 positions Left Middle or Right

Sorry about pic three quality, damn flash was either too bright or no good at all
I'm going to see if I can leave the hook in place and mount a bracket off the chassis members in front of it. I have a U section in mind that I've put to one side at work which would do the job nicely. It's a bit deep at about 100mm, but is real heavy stuff. I'll look more closely at making the tow hook detatchable and able to be moved to different locations on the bracket later. However I think central is good for me.

Had a good look at Watling Eng's product, looks good for £30 more they'll put an extra mount in the middle so best of both worlds. Not cheap but quick and easy to fit, the stowable bar and hitch is also neat.

This may kill off the DIY one I was planning recycling an old DB coupling, this is probably for the best as it would be pretty ugly.

Watling engineering's one is too rich for me, but does look good!

I haven't yet had time to measure the mountings and so design the brackets needed for the Hook. I have a few building options where I'm working now and have access to a water jet cutter for the first time ever, watch this space for radiator grills etc

Ordered one today, it is an item I could make, however, the trial and error of this coupled with looking for and finding the materials then finishing has one me over plus just an hour to fit!

I'll post some pictures of it when fitted.

got my front bar and fitted it in an hour or so. Very easy although a bit more filing needed than quoted in the instructions to get some bits to fit snug and to get some clearance for the bolts thru two existing chassis slots. Just need some decent weather and some free time to coincide so I can go and push m'boat.

That's excelent Wavelengh.

I have the component pieces made up out of Stainless steel, with some slight mods to do before ready for welding. Just been too busy at work to coninue. But once back from France in a couple of weeks, I'll be pushing on with my Bar.

Ahh but what about the group of old people who suddenly appear outside the shelter and refuse to move. Leaving you with just enough room for a fly's nads between the mud guard and wooden posts?

This poor fella said the streets where empty before he put the rib on the back!

No rant from here!! Land Rovers are like ladies, if ya dont know how to treat them right they will always be bad to you!!

Similarities are endless between travelling in a RIB and a Land Rover anyway!! the level of spray recieved in the face is just one!!
