I'm sure Kilogak was really, really, really hoping that they were still available even after 3 yrs. $4,500 was a very good price.
In the past I would just start calling all the new and old dealers seeing if they have by any chance have a set sitting in storage. When one did, I was always able get a very good price on them. Just takes a lot of cold calling and staying positive.
$10K is a high price pill to swallow but not a lot of alternatives except finding NOS or going to a re-tuber.
Wings and other US tube making companies are a good alternative but price difference could be only (approx. 25% less) and will effect the overall value of your Zodiac so it could be a marginal play in the long run.
Just have to catch them on a good day for a discount, the Fall is always a good time of year as it's the slow season.
