Quote Mollers; It's a boat, not a 1930's Vincent Black Shadow.

But no one in there right mind would put one of those in the sea & go wave jumping on it Ive got a Matchless G10 with sidecar in the garage & i dont think it even floats

That was my dads first bike, followed by a Norvin in the late 60's.

Listening to the stories I am not sure if he spen more time at shows, racing or cleaning them.

Sad bit is he sold them both just after I was born

wernt they first made in the late 40's though?

Yeah, your right. I think 50's Shadow would be more accurate. Theyre worth a mint now.

Wasn't there a 'Black Prince'? Slightly the poor relation to the 'Shadow'.

One of his stories is being chased down the M1 when it first opened (59, 60?), when he eventualy stopped the copper just wanted to look at the bike as he could not keep up - those must of been the days

Just had a chat with my dad. He said the prince was more of a touring bike and the shadow was about the same price as a house

Also the shadow was fast for it's day, but from that came the lightning (150mph race bike). Then his Norvin (norton with tuned vincent engine) made the shadow look slow

My Shadow had swinging arm & jam pots fitted not a factory spec that stoped
her hopping round the corners at speed wich could be alarming
