DIY Fit Towbar and Electrics

Hi,
I need to fit a towbar to my car.
Having trawled the site I can find a reference to Towequipe.
Are there any other mailorder companies I should look at?

So far it looks like its going to cost me about £215 just to get the parts I need!

Car is a 2005 Mondeo Estate; I want to use "Plug-in" electric kits and would like both 12N and 12S....

Any stunning deals anywhere?

Cheers,

Orve.

Where abouts in the UK are you, I use a chap in Walton on Thames and hefits Witter and is very very reasonable, seem to think most of the bars I have had from him for a variety of cars have been less than the price you've been quoted.

I agree with Tim completely. I fitted a Towtrust bar to my 406 in about an hour and a half and its worked really.

I was under the impression that towbar fitting had been tightened up recently. I actually thought it had to be fitted by a professional now but if you can get it mail order then that can't be the case.
I know you can get firms to come round to your house to do it.
I also think you have to make sure they are fitted with a CE plate.

I got a half price deal at my local Vauxhall dealer when they were doing a special offer over the winter. have you tried Ford ?

Thanks for all your replies.

Got a verbal quote for fitting at about £240.

Managed to get all I need from towequipe for £109.50....should arrive today, lets hope the sun keeps shining and that the fitting is straightforward!

Regards,

Orve.
