Zodiac Hurricane 630

Came across this "tricked out " Hurricane tied up next to the Maritime Museum today.
All the bells and whistles and was impresed by the lifting rig.
Now that some pretty substancial looking tubing
Is the work boat for the research vessel McArthur which used to belong to NOAA and do marine research.
cheers dal

These guys must not have much faith in their abilities... reflective tape on the bottom of the hull and all!

There's a charter operation in town that has a 630 I/O diesel like this one which is for sale if anyone is interested. It was too small for them and they now use two 9+m boats. I don't imagine it has many hours. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send you the contact info... I was tempted myself, but the boat is rigged all wrong for diving.

That lift system is pretty standard on Hurricanes used in military and CG circles. It's fast and stable, compared to a lifting sling. There is a research vessel that comes by from time to time that uses the same set-up and I've seen them lower a boat with a four-man crew in it, without trouble...
