Welcome to RIBnet North America!
Over the last few months there have been more and more people from the USA and Canada registering on RIBnet, and I hope that this extra section will help to balance out the current European bias of the site.
This section is intended to supplement the existing forums, not replace or duplicate any of them. It's for things like:
- finding other people near you (or nearer than the UK anyway!)
- cruises
- social events
- local manufacturers and suppliers
- buying advice
General questions should still be posted in the normal places, and I may move threads around if I feel they would be better somewhere else.
This is a trial, and we'll see how it goes over the next few months. I hope that it will be useful!

Thanks for setting this up...Britannia is a long way from San Diego..so hard to relate. In Southern California it's almost 365 days of boating. Look forward to hooking up with RIB drivers in this area!

No RIB runs in San Diego /Orange County USA SAD
What's wrong with Rib owners in San Diego are they AFRAID to go out in the Ocean? There are no Inflatable dealers or organizers putting on any RIB runs. Have my 20 Foot Scanner 590 Completely Re -furbished now. Just put on a Brand NEW Yamaha 115 hp Four Stroke. New steering, New wiring, new dual batteries, new fuel lines and filters, new bimini. Cleaned out my Stainless steel 65 Gallon fuel tanks. Put on a Lowrance GPS, fish finder , structure scan WHERE IS EVERYBOBY?

Only the very finest RIB dealers and manufacturers organise days afloat with international adventures and partying late into the night afterwards 
More seriously, I guess geography makes gatherings more difficult in North America. There seems to be a reasonable density of ribbers in SoCal and maybe you should consider buddying up with one other RIBnetter and organising a US RIBnet Conference?

RIB has become comfortably numb.

OK I took that a bit too far.
Anyway, I'm in SD and in the ocean all the time. I've had my rib 6 months and I only use it to surf land-inaccessible places to get away from the unwashed heathen multitude, but I've come to realize what an awesome basic design concept the RIB is.
I've been shocked how UK-centric online RIB communities are, and it seems like the only ribs in SoCal are on the back of yachts (not that there's anything wrong with that). My only guess is that people want boats for fishing and maybe ribs aren't optimal for that (no idea, I don't fish).

Hello from Northern Michigan
New to ribbing and late this year to boot.
Ordered a Sea Eagle sport runabout 10'-6", I had a 9.5 Evinrude but this my 1st ever inflatable the end of Aug got it delivered end of Sept n was only able to take it out for 2 very short cruises, like 10 min each time due to high winds. Was amazed at how well it handled in the rough sea/lake.
Been adding accessories n getting ready for spring which helps take the bite out of the lockdown do nothing... can hardly wait for spring!
Happy to see ribnet here in N America just to bad there's not better exposure and possibly not more ribbers. I live on Michigan's largest inland lake and I may be the only ribber, I've never seen one in the 28 yrs living here.
Hopefully we can hang in yhere n word of mouth will prevail, I only found it looking for more to read n share the enjoyment.

There is probably low probability of finding prospective buyer here, but 'never say never'.
Someone might have the money, the desire and the enthusiasm, but without relevant experience; the probability of getting insurance is low. It is becoming more and more difficult to get liability coverage as the market shrinks. (Did you happen to notice all the accident lawyers ads ... all the time?)
Probably need $100K cash or unencumbered equity to even think about proceeding/financing rest.
*also note: To get a CDN number for being a captain, you have to be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant*
