Codders,
actually crashed 1 block from a store I work at and due there tommorrow! Guess they have the roads closed down,so should be interesting to see if I can get there.
Seems 3 dead and one missing.
Unusual ,as it seems the pilot said he was flying on one engine, coming back from the offshore carrier. I would have thought they would have diverted him north over open ground back to Miramar, rather than flying over La Jolla, which is heavily populated.
All accounts are that the pilot left it to the last second to punch out and maybe trying to clear the houses and put it down on the school football field, just to the side. Dropped about a mile short of the runway.
Either way, tradgedy for the house occupants who stood no chance.
First reports are it may be a Grandma and young child,so a terrible freak accident and so close to christmas.
Thanks for the concern
Dal
