That is here in San Diego. The Police have at least three different sized Safe Boats. They usually have twins. The two in the picture have thee and four engines.

Safe boats there are SD Police? Probably excess anti-terrorism funds. I've seen reports of several landlocked towns getting really nice RIB's with Homeland Security funding. Mostly a case of use-it-or-lose-it. At least San Diego can use the boats...

The Safe Boats are definitely used. They even have a Safe Boat for the volunteer patrol, but they only have two engines.
