Boat Ride

I ran out to Anacapa Island with the family for a little diving. The kids got the gopro out for some dolphin footage and so I took a little of the boat ride. A little bumpy today, running in the low 20's mph to keep the ride mellow.

I like how you have your T top mounted to the center console, instead of the floor.
How's that working for you?
Any difficulty in lifting your former engine cover with the added weight of the top, radar, speakers, etc?
I know that you made that console shorter in length and wonder if you think that helped?

Boat Ride

I even have a life jacket on under my coat too

The console is bolted down now, it doesn't lift. I have the big hatch on the front for access below.

You should have seen the ride home, downhill under clear blue sky doing 30+mph

That should make you jealous

And today it's supposed to blow 30kts.

I believe that's a pretty good size. I think Ryan said he had a 8 footer on one of his fleet.
Again, very nice looking boat.

Thanks. For a workboat more shade is probably better. It would need more support. Also depends on console location and style.
There is no perfect setup except the one you like.

Nice ride! That thing looks and sounds great.

You and I spoke a while back about your boat... you have a 250 right (couldn't read it on my low res screen)? And how do you like that Suzuki? Any trouble finding good mechanic?

Yep, 250. So far the Suzuki has been great. I have just over 70 hours on it and it purrs like a big kitten. The local dealers were Suzuki/Yamaha or Honda and some others. I'm pretty limited in choice of dealer and based on recommendations here I went with the Suzuki. I have since heard that Suzuki corporate can be a pain if you have weird issues and/or warranty claims but fingers crossed....

Hopefully I put enough hours on it this fall to need a oil change but the maintenance intervals seemed pretty reasonable.

The Suzuki was many thousands less than a Yamaha
