Right I now know the light blue, green , and red loom from controls is for extra switch and can forget about it!!!
So will get pics today of the two leads coming from engine that have connectors on that plug into lcd marine meter!
Also have 2fuse harnes that links loom from 703 control throttle to tachometer!
I think from what I've found out guys on yamaha outboard forum I may be alright??? What you think????

I've had a look at some bits in the office and the new control loom might have some trim wires in it and you could be right that them others are spare, I can't see how this will help you though as your engine is still older style.
Just plug it in before you mount it and see what works

Yes that's what I found in the office late last night, have you got that second loom that goes to the gauges. Have you got the plug on the outboard to plug that second loom in

Plug it all in and try it, we could talk and check to the cows come home but that won't get the answers you are looking for

I think I'm going back to my early posts, most of that is not compatible without a bit of wiring, MHO. I don't think that you will get this working without a visit from someone, I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but it looks like you'll have to go through that a bit at a time
