What transducer for fitting a Garmin 923XSV?

Hi,
Our 2014 model year Garmin GPSmap50S went tango uniform.

Looking at the 5" portrait-style hole it had in the console, it seems like we need a 9" Garmin now to fill the hole nicely. The newer GPS units all seem to be fitted in that landscape way, so 9" is the smallest unit that will work. The Garmin 923XSV seems like a nice unit with good features.

I don't fish or plan to fish from the boat. What transducer would you fit on a 7m XS rib with this GPS? My old transducer seems to be the plain basic type like this:

https://www.garmin.com/en-IE/p/85637#devices

The Garmin transducer selection guide is not that user-friendly. It would be nice to be able to see wrecks etc on the bottom, but I don't want to spend more than £4/500 on it. 80% of the time I'm in fresh water up to 140ft deep and 20% of the time on the sea no more than 10nm from the shore.

TIA

I nearly ordered a garmin 923 for my delta refurb but I was advised to avoid touch screen units in open boats & steered towards the fully button controlled eco map uhd2 75cv which is the same size unit it's also a lump cheaper too

I went to the Garmin Dealer today to look at the units. What they recommend for RIB open boats is the Echomap UHD2 95sv keyed unit:

https://www.garmin.com/en-IE/p/796274

and this GT20-TM Transducer

https://www.garmin.com/en-IE/p/540580/pn/010-01960-01

The only negative I can see is it's not upgradeable for Radar, but it will work with AIS/Autopilot. To stay away from touchscreens echos the advice that was posted here by Beamishken.

You dont want the sv as that's the touchscreen you want the button controlled cv you have to put up with slightly smaller screen size due to the space taken up by the buttons I could fit a 9" touchscreen but have to settle for a 7" button controlled screen to fit in the space I have

I have a 923 and a 923 Xsv running side by side, 923 normally on mercury gauges and the xsv on charts or fish finder. I have them on a Brig eagle 6.7 and don’t have any issues with touch screen on open boat. We were out this weekend in the sun and rain
