waterproof video camera

I know some of you use go pro's on your boats, however the price of one is quite a lot for keeping a camera for the beach and on the boat, already have SLR.

I have been looking at the Kodak Zx range and wondered if anyone had any experience of one cost is about £80 plus an sd card, there is plenty of decent reviews on amazon etc of them just wanted a bit of real life thoughts on one...or anything else you might have used in a similar price range!

Yep very pleased with my Zx5 - similar basic tech specs to a GoPro and waterproof (only 3m) out of the box

I think the main difference between the Zx5 & Zx3 is that the Zx3 is not shockproof but has a removable battery - The Zx5 is the latest model and supersedes the Zx3.
PS you can also buy add on wide angles lenses for both - I bought these and they work quite well.

Just as an extra thought,

Last year we used our Tesco vouchers to get an Olympus mj 310.
To be fair it did have one or two negative results but was informed that these probs had been ironed out.

The camera should have been £170 but using our vouchers during a promotion only had to use £85 of them. Paid £30 extra to get an extended warranty and in the year we have had it can say I'm quite happy with it. Used it on the beach, boat and at centre parcs on the slides and underwater in the pool with no problems.

Worth a look for some.

RIBase
I've got an Oregon scientific one. It's very small and doesn't have a viewfinder but it does really good shots from a fixed position like on your a frame.

I'm using a dogcam Bullet HD wide. I have used it on the boat acouple of times with good results. Currently skiing and with good light the picture is really very good and the unit is tiny. First one i had wouldn't focus properly but the replacement is fantastic for the price. (but it is not a go pro!)
