hi can anyone advise if the whip type aerial will fit on the RR base, returned yesterday minus the coily thingy and a quick search on here would suggest the the whip is a better aerial. have already tried to contact shakespere but no tech help available.

Search on here to find what Ribnet thinks of Vitronix!

Get a Metz, it is the best!

Buy it from Salty John and you get the adaptor free!

Ribcraft conducted a mass test of different types, give them a ring for an opinion!

When you buy a Metz from us please specify that it's for a RIB or you intend to fit it to an existing bracket. We'll make sure it has the long continuously threaded connector in the base. The standard antenna has a discontinuously threaded connector which is designed for use with the supplied 'L' bracket.

The long connector is a standard item available from vhf parts suppliers and helps you to fit antennas of the Metz type, with a base coil and PL259 connection, through the A frame, cabin top, or through existing thicker plastic or alloy brackets with enough remaining thread to give a secure fit.
