sea talk and nmea

Does anyone know if you have a external gps aeriel of the sea talk kind and its plugged into a plotter that has both nmea and sea talk connections, will it then activate the nmea connection for connection to a vhf or not.

I hope so because that is the set I will have on Monday morning when mine arrives. Seatalk GPS aerial to a Raymarine C120 to a Icom M601.

I have a Raymarine plotter. I know what you are trying to do and yes it works, i have my ICOM connected to it.

I did put a treat on some time ago, describing how to wire as well
