Sea Rider Fish Finder Sonar Placement

Hi,

Can anyone advise me on the best place to fit a transduecr on the Sea Rider.

I already have one fitted that doesn't seem to work too well. Its either old or been placed in the wrong position.

I am shortly to fit a new one and was wondering if anyone has a working setup with which they can advise me the best location.

It has to fit on the outside of the hull on the rear transom and from the diagram that came with it I am considering fiiting it on the top most ridge on the hull.

The attached picture shows the present location which is circled in red and the blue circle is where I am considering fitting it.

My main reason for putting the transducer higher is to get it away from the prop and the props turbulence.

On my 5.4 my transducer is where yours is and works OK. No problem with turbulennce from the prop - this is all aft of the transducer.
Moving it outboard might put it in more aerated water?

Hi Duncan,

I've just been reading the manual again and it seems the present location is the recomended one.

Seems the old Depth gauge might be shot.

Regards Nick.
