Northstar Chart Plotter

Evening,

Anyone used the Northstar M84?

we are planning a new electrics set up on our boat and a larger chart plotter is on the cards.

im tempted to stick with Northstar / Navman as we have an existing 6600 which i plan to keep as a second plotter over on the navigators side.

looking for something larger to go in the middle of the dash...

the Garmin's look good but lots of money and something tells me keeping with same cartography makes sence!

cheers
Zippy

Ive used the northstar m84 and its a great piece of kit, especially linked to the navman fuel sender, allso found it easy to navigate the menus,
Ive allso got a pc planner c-map card reader and data card for sale, covering atlantic / european coasts. its the mega wide chart, sept 08. for the m84. on data card

Northstar

I'm having a lot of problems getting parts for my Navman kit. I'd check that Northstar is going to be supported for a decent period.

Funny that! im struggling to get any joy from Navico on a new transducer for our Navman 6600 as well!

the attraction is having same cartography on the main plotter and the reserve plotter....

I had the Navman version on my last RIB and it was a great piece of kit, especially whenlinked to the other Navman and Mercury instruments.

I now have a Simrad which is good, but would swap it for the Navman kit if I had the chance.
