Lowrance HDS to Standard Horizon VHF

Yet another how to connect x to y question i'm afraid......

Lowrance HDS 7 to Standard Horizon VHf (GX1500E)......

Have NMEA set to 0183.....

Yellow on HDS to Blue on VHF
Blue on HDS to Green VHF


Correct? / am I being stupid? They can't see each other ......aaaaargh!

I've just had a read of the relevant manuals dan you need to connect the shield on the hds to green (ground (-)) on the VHF, also have you set the baud rate to 4800 on the gps

Another thought you have set the gps to com 1 which is the port for the yellow transmit wire on hds, com 2 uses the blue wire to transmit.
