Integrating Simrad Devices and Yamaha CL5

Setting up a new boat, I have a Non-DEC F150FET engine and just bought a Simrad NSX 9000 MFD & Simrad RS40 Radio.* Boat is also equipped with a CL5.

The 6 ports on the Command Link MultiHub are currently:

PWR: Cable coming from Ignition
Bus 1: Empty
Device 1: CL5
Device 2: Empty
Device 3: Empty
Bus 2: Engine

Can I just use adapter cables for both Simrad devices directly into the 2 empty device ports on the Command Link Multihub rather than a separate NMEA 2000 Backbone?* Is one preferred over the other?

Hi, last year I did a cl5 with a garmin and a Yamaha f115 vmax. As far as I remember it was just plug and play
