Icom M73 Programming

Hi,

I need some help removing channels from some Icom M73's

Anyone know a local dealer to the North West that has the functionality?

If it's a regular need it might be worth getting the cable & software. Not used it for a year or tow, but it's very simple to use.

It's a one off, and it seems the cost of the cables for the newer units are quite high

That's a fair price I charge £25 through the workshop or a standard call out (£41.50) onboard.

Have you tried contacting Icom direct? I've always found them very helpful. Sam, one of the team down there is a Ribnobbur. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

We do Raymarine, sailor, motorolla and Icom in house. Not standard horizon (not a fan nor a dealer) and simrad we have to send away.

This is bordering on a trade ad, sorry admim's. But it's also probably a useful future reference so I decided to post.

They will do it, but with postage its getting quite expensive.

Software and cable is £20 + 50? Buy it do them and tangent sell on the gear or keep for future?

Any uk dealer can supply the cable and software but it's 35+50, plus vat.

There's also no margin on the software so profit less than a fiver although I do believe there might be copy cables on ebay.

I thought the cable was only allowed to be supplied to authorised people?

35+50+vat is getting close to the cost to post, program and post back.

Software is software. It can be copied. But it's a licensed product and its £50 on Icoms price list with no trade discount.

To answer Steve's question I was not aware it was a dealer only item. It has an RRP on the retail price list for one. We've sold the programming leads to end users before.
