Hi, can anyone tell me the measurement of a HDS7 between the two lugs on the bracket?

if it helps I'm trying to find the right plotter to fit on a bracket that is 8" between the lugs

Depends what model you want. HDS7M is plotter only and is cheaper. Bear in mind the basemap is crap, so allow for buying a chart as well.
