I was demostrating how there's no secondary retention on my HX270E, when I dropped it and the clip shattered

I engineered a solution with 2 cable-ties and a a caribiner.

Caribiner clips on to my LJ. Not sure how easy it would be to reach & unclip it if in the water, but not sure that it would have been any easier with the original clip!

I think that an extendable curly lanyard thing would be a good security measure so it would be permanently attached.

I prefer "high visibility metallic salmon"

You're right though. The caribina is actually an knife that Mrs T had as an emergency knife clipped to her LJ - it was a matter of using what I had to hand. Anyway it does the job until I can justify a nice shiny floating DSC handheld

Case looks really nice but I do prefer something like this:
Olympus Tough Neoprene Tasche - passend für TG-830/20, TG-630/20, TG-1, TG-2 ... | Fototaschen | Zubehör für Kameras | Kameras & Zubehör | uw-fotopartner.com
I have een using this for my OLYMPUS TG1 camera. I snorkel with this equipment and use it on boat. I saw a lot of mobile phones lost at boat slipped from hands so I do really prefer case having re-tractor.

Best Divers Mini Retractor. Accessories Extenders, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, dive.

I have T-REINGN case having retractor but it is too small for my HORIZONS HX851

The Relax one on Amazon looks absolutely ideal, sadly one of the things that the imbeciles at Amazon will not send here!

That's one problem I find with the crewsaver crewfit LJ, there is very little space on it to attach anything.

I now wear a belt - with all my safety kit on it - some say that's why I use a 275 n lifejacket !
