Garmin GPSMAP 723sv no volume control !

I recently acquired a new Brig rib which was fitted with a GarminGPS map 723SV plotter. I like to have a low water alarm which you can set on this unit but the volume of the alarm is so low that with almost any ambient sound it is virtually in audible and thus useless.

I spoke to Garmin and they said yes , they had mentioned this several times to their engineers and the only solution they could come up with was to complete an additional wiring circuit connecting it to my horn. As my horn happened to be extraordinarily loud this is not an option because it sounds more like a distress signal
A word of warning to anybody considering buying one of these – don’t. On the other hand if I’m being a complete prat and have missed something I would be grateful for any advice
