Dismountable Fishfinder/Sounder

hi there, I want to fit the above for occasional use (5%) of boat trips.
Any best buys??
Any must bewares?
For short hours usage are AA battery models recommended?
Does the transom transducer ever tell the truth at speed or in lumpy conditions?

Would be great to hear from you....

cheers rogerC

Cant comment on your other questions, but..............
I have found, much to my amazement, that all the depthfinders I have ever used, give a pretty stable view of the seabed. This assumes it is mounted correctly and (in my experience) you are not going too fast for the beastie to cope with (15-20knots was my "worse case" instrument).
