Broadband radar

I have just had one of these installed; took a little fiddling as it is alleged to be one of first. On a sample of one days' use, and unnecessary use at that, it is qute remarkable. I moored in Newtown Creek having "followed" the RTI fleet (just went round the other way). Rowing dinghies clealry discriminated, ditto perches and buoys. Close range performance is also convincing. As in down to 5 yards if not less. All this set at auto and I didn't RTFM which is for later this week. It's an entirely Simrad set-up but it will i/f to Lowrance and the other makes within Navico. Range not brilliant, but height of eye on the Hunton fitting can't be more than 12' so it would be so good anyway. Recommended.
No evidence of caning the battery which is a bonus.
I will fit one to the RIB later this year when availability is easier and prices may ease a bit.
Current one is on a Hunton 43 (Hellfire III) so if you see a blue and white boat bearing down, please wave and we'll have a drink!

Went out on Andre's Parker at Seawork and had a chance to see the capabilities of the broadband radar. It was very impressive and a great piece of kit.

Am now very tempted to have installed on next boat, when I upgrade.
