I ended up wiring my 8 and 12 ah battery together in parallel under my seat.
Larger tupperware box was also required.
Voltage is fine now with no overcharging.

Hi Jeff.
The buck converter did work but it was a tight squeeze to fit it and the additional wiring into the small space inside my waterproof under seat box.
I wasn't convinced that the wires wouldn't come out of the connectors on the buck converter when the Sib was bouncing around in a chop. They are not the best connectors and the wires are really close together. I wanted the a bit more amps too, for when I'm away with the 6hp which doesn't have a battery charging circuit so I went with joining the two batteries. I added heavy cables and connectors for connecting the bravo pump to blow the Sib up with as well as the 12ah battery was used for blowing the Sib up previously.
Jeff are you coming up for H.H's get together in June?

Mine isn’t as Gucci as yours, it uses small pots to set the various outputs. I set mine to 12.6V & 3A max. These are the settings for the battery. There are a couple of settings to set how it behaves on power up too.

Looking at it seems easy enough this has a thermal cut off default setting is 110 degrees down to 80 degrees minimum which is handy.

This is too low for lead acid to prevent sulphation or allow a full charge, that's the battery resting voltage. Float voltage is typically 13.7v and charging voltage 14.2-14.7v

Yeah, but mine’s a lithium. Hence having to go down the bespoke charging voltage route[emoji6]

There's a right way and a wrong way.
I found this a useful diagram:
