Thanks for the heads up - I couldn't resist as I haven't had a working handheld since my ancient Simrad HT50's battery died quite a while ago, so finally took the plunge and ordered one of these to bring my handheld into this century!

Just set it up well entered the MMSI at least found it slightly frustrating guess I’m too used to touch screens I guess! I’m sure I will get the hang of it .....

Mine arrives tomorrow - I'll need to remember my Ofcom username/password first though to expand my ancient transportable licence to include an MMSI!

But yes - modern as it is for a handheld VHF radio, I'm sure the interface can't complete with anything like a modern phone.

Menu is very Nokia circa 2003/4 and similar in part to my basic Etrex gps (hoping that this will effectively replace the etrex for basic nav functions.

Anyone played with the usb? Is there any software haven’t got that far in the manual....

The blurb in the adverts I looked at certainly talked about programmable software you could hook up to...

Looks like the software is a much easier way to set it up compared to the on radio gui but guess knowing way round gui is useful, unless your taking laptop out to sea with you ...
