Yanmar 6LP-STZP Cooling Water Sender

Today was the first proper day out with the RIB - and I suddenly realised that I had no temperature readings on the gauge. The engine appears to be working and cooling properly (pumping propery, and 'normal' temperatures), and nothing seems to be amiss with the wiring.

So - the only thing I can think of is to test both the sender and the gauge - does anyone know what voltage(s) or current the sender should be supplying to the temperature gauge?

usually if you ground the wire at the sender end you will get full deflection on the guage if you do then the problem is the sender
