Yanmar 315HP (6LP) Turbo pipe clamp

Hi all,

Wriggling around in the engine bay on the RIB yesterday, checking the air filter/sponge, I noticed that the pipe clamp on the turbo exhaust to the intercooler has broken. Does anyone know where I can find out the part number for the clamp?

Ta!!

Hi Dylan, when we replaced a couple of these (V Clamp type I assume) clamps on the 6LY2a we found the Yanmar prices were very steep.....

Bought stainless steel replacements from a turbo specialist.....can't recall where OTTOMH, but they were a third of the price IIRC.....

Measure the old one and search for V Clamp is my advice, there is a seller on Ebay

Hi Dan,

Thanks for that - it is a V clamp - but it's a really tight fit to get it out, so it's going to need some disassembly to get it off and replace - so I was hoping to be able to get sizing/spec etc from the Yanmar part no, and then find one (a better one!!) elsewhere and change it over, rather than disassembling twice!!

I'm a more than a bit unimpressed that it's broken, looks like a fairly crap mild steel tensioning bolt which has given up. It looks to be about the same quality as the paint job on the engine!!

Hi TD,

For some reason your phone isn't working - it doesn't ring and says that you've hung up?

Could you let me know (or PM me) the price of the V-clamp, and also a price for the high pressure oil pipe feeding the turbo? Looks a bit too corroded for comfort......
