Can anyone tell me exactly how the steering guide should be bolted to the engine? At present ours is from top to bottom: Bolt head, washer, steering guide, engine bracket, thin lock nut, nyloc nut. I'm sure it's not right. Is it meant to be bolt head, washer, steering guide, washer, thin nut, engine bracket, washer, nyloc? It's a 1990 85hp Yamaha. Thanks

Pics would help, the explanation is hard to work out.
It sort of sounds right, but need to see it.

Err. That wouldn't work as it's not attached to the engine! Lol

Drawing attached of 1) how it currently is.
2) how it possibly should be??
On the right the suggestion above but where does the engine bracket go?

So just for anyone else it's as follows:

Nyloc
Washer
Engine
Thin lock nut
Washer
Steering arm with collet
Washer
Bolt

Certainly a lot better than the set up it came with. Thanks
