yamaha f80 fault
i have a 4year old yamaha f80 (4 stroke) about amonth ago, the engine after being wormed up, wouldn't start, tryed all the usel stuff. Managed to take boat & engine to a dealer where fault was found to be the CDI unit. after speeking to several othere dealers thay have never changed one before, has any one ever had one go or know of one going?

mate of mine had cdi unit go on a 30hp motor,it was fitted on a zodiac rib and was replaced under warrenty.

You wana get ride of that big old heavy 80 and put a nice shinny 50 on the back, will solve all your problems and to add i know just the place you can pick up a nice 50 2 stoke Rude going cheap

unfortenetly mine was out of warrenty so hat to pay out to get it repaired.Have you any idear why your mates cdi unit broke?

Cdi units Can just Go... no reason..... I think it just bad luck... it will proably be the only one in you life to go......

the mechanic could'nt give a reason said it was just one of those things.
