Yamaha Enduro 8hp 2-stroke thermostat

Dear all,

I just overhauled my yam 8hp enduro and found out that the thermostat is missing.
Does anyone know if it is left missing from the manufacturing company for purpose since its a small outboard or should I place one for better engine life time??

I thank you all for any openions,

Regards,

Johann Malta.

If that's a used engine previous owner must have removed it. If factory new, strange that hasn't been delivered with one. You must always use a thermo specially when boating on cold waters. If without one engine will run cold, will take a lifetime to warm up, will experiment carbon buil up inside combustion chamber due to working with less temp that needed.

Happy Boating
