When it was bad enough for me to notice it was dry and slightly rusty whereas the other two were slightly sooty with a slight oil to them.

Some people may be - but I was not - skilful enough mechanic to get a head gasket verdict of of it.

Of course you will now probably have to put up with loads of stupid questions from me on buying a new engine.

Nope I am done with this engine.

I spent all winter servicing the life out of it and got a month use before it blew up.

I don't mind, in fact I enjoy, keeping my engines in shape but the criteria is that if I have to work on it more than I can use it then it is goodnight vienna.

Yamaha 90AETOL

It's a fantastic engine worth saving. FYI I'm considering selling my low hours 90AETOL or perhaps the full rig including the rare 5.0 m Ribcraft. Drop me a note if you are interested. This is a very light, quick boat for 5m rib. Plan to list the engine or whole rig and trailer on e-bay and Ribnet soon with option of current prop a 19" or a 17". Black hull and tubes, central console, hydraulic steering, never antifouled, never beached, tubes in perfect order with no patches or scratches, flushed in fresh water after every season and used for only a few weeks a year. Serviced at Yamaha service centers; Yampower in Glasgow or Crinan boatyard a couple of times since I've owned it. In near perfect order, except for 1 small crack in gel coat and rust on the PT motor housing, I'm looking into having these two issues addressed now. Located west coast of Scotland if anyone interested in either engine or whole rig please PM me.

You’ll shift that engine on easy enough, if I was closer I’d be interested myself. Could you PM me a price when you decide what you are doing with it please.
