Welcome to ribnet!

My engine is of a similar vintage, and so I am now well aware that Yam manuals for that age of engine are like the proverbial rocking horse poo. Thankfully, they sold lots of engines to Mariner, for which Clymer does a manual!

It's a bit "haynes-esque in that it seems to tell you in great detail what you can probably work out yourself, but it's better than nowt, and does have al the useful torque / sizing specs you may need.

Dare I ask what the problem is?

RIBase
Breastroker and 9D280 - please send me a private message. I have an original Yamaha 40/48/55 manual. It was printed in Japan in 1978 and runs to 124 pages.

I've grown attached to it - came with my first engine, and has a distinctly musty smell after spending a degree of time in an old Zodiac SIB.

I'll happily make a copy for both of you if you forward an A4 SAE (with enough postage to cover weight). I'll forward my address by return.
